[mdx] Metadata Retrieval From Aggregate Protocol

I think I'd prefer that people adopt some sort of {id} format that 
worked for them.  Otherwise you run in to configuration issues where you 
have to learn how to form paths based on multiple pieces of data which 
may or may not be there.
